Virginia-based Technica Corp. has added a 12,000-square foot office at Port San Antonio.
Technica's new office at 913 Billy Mitchell Blvd. will fulfill a defense contract for the U.S. Air Force’s Cyberspace Vulnerability Assessment/Hunter weapon system. The contract is currently in its first option period, which lasts until Feb. 14, 2021, according to the Defense Department's website. If all options are exercised, work on the contract is expected to be completed by Aug. 14, 2025.
The San Antonio office's on-site capabilities will include advanced computer engineering salary engineering, product solutions, cyber training, operational support, security risk management framework support, quality assurance and testing, and service desk support.
“As San Antonio continues its trajectory as one of the world’s fastest-growing technology hubs—and with the burgeoning number of defense operations that depend on our expertise—it was imperative that we expand our presence into the Alamo City—home to one of America’s largest military and cybersecurity communities,” Miguel Collado, president and CEO of Technica said in a news release.
The company also looked at the Port to be closer to its defense client and tap into the veteran talent pool within the area, Collado added.
