Hundreds of computer science degree holders and IT techies, who have lost jobs amid the pandemic, have urged Education Minister Govind Thakur to do away with the condition of a five-year experience for recruitment as PGT (informatics practices) in schools. The previous Congress government had in 2017 advertised 1,191 posts of computer science degree jobs (IP). However, the appointments could not be made as the matter had been pending in the State Administrative Tribunal (since abolished) and the High Court. The jobless youths rued that the government did not made any efforts to expedite the matter. They said there was no such condition when 767 posts were filled in 2012.
